Every network publishes its own video ad specs, and they change. This page gathers them in one place, each line taken from the platform's own spec page on 19 October 2026, with the link. Where a page does not state a figure, the table says so rather than guessing.

Key takeaways

  • Lead with 9:16. Six of the placements below are vertical first.
  • Keep a 4:5 or 16:9 cut for Facebook Feed, LinkedIn, YouTube in-stream and X.
  • Mind the safe zone on Meta's vertical placements: 14% top, 35% bottom, 6% each side.
  • Short wins where it is stated: LinkedIn recommends 15 to 30 seconds, X recommends 15 seconds or less, Pinterest 6 to 15 seconds.

Safe zones and captions

  • Instagram Reels, Stories and Facebook Reels: Meta says to leave "at least 14% of the top, 35% of the bottom and 6% on each side of your asset free from text, logos or other important creative elements."
  • TikTok: the safe zone "is determined by the dimension (vertical, horizontal, or square), ad caption length, and any additional formats used"; TikTok offers template files on the same page.
  • YouTube: Google publishes "Universal safe zones" templates for Shorts and in-stream.
  • LinkedIn: captions "Must be in SRT format".
  • X: "Closed captioning or text overlays are strongly recommended".

One advert, every size

The quickest way to cover all of this is to make the advert once and export each cut: a 9:16 master for the vertical feeds, then a 4:5 or 16:9 version for Facebook Feed, LinkedIn, YouTube and X. Reigniter builds the advert from your product photo and brand kit in the aspect ratio you choose, and posts it to your connected accounts. If the advert is AI-made, check when it needs an AI label.
